MUMBAI: The makers of the Vidya Balan ‘s ‘Begum Jaan’ came up with a brilliant idea to organize a reunion of sorts and get the stars of the original Bengali film ‘Rajkahini’ to meet the cast of the film’s Bollywood remake titled ‘Begum Jaan’ Noted Bengali actress Rituparna Sengupta, who played the original character of Begum Jaan – now essayed by Vidya – along with her team, came together to meet director Srijit Mukherji’s new team in Kolkata. While the two Begum Jaans cut the cake and got chatty, Gauahar Khan also met actress Joya Ahsan, who essayed her character- Rubina, whereas Pallavi Sharda also had the chance to meet Parno Mittra, the star who originally played her character Gulabo. These pictures are proof of how Srijit managed to recreate the ‘Rajkahini’ magic with the ‘Begum Jaan’ cast.
