MUMBAI: Salman Khan has had a stellar 2016. He received both critical and commercial success for his film Sultan, he topped the Forbes list of the 100 highest earning celebrities of 2016 and even strengthened his friendship with both Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan. And what better way to celebrate personal and professional success in the year gone by than with a bonanza 51st birthday bash on December 27 with his near and dear ones. This at his Panvel farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai, much like last year. festivities are likely to continue for a week with friends and family bringing in the New Year together. What makes this birthday a tad more special is the fact that the actor plans to launch his app called ‘Being In Touch’ for his fans the same day. So who all are on the guest list? His rumoured lady love Iulia Vantur is a definite on the list apart from the entire Khandaan including brothers Arbaaz and Sohail. Close friends like Karisma and Kareena Kapoor Khan along with husband Saif Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha who recently joined the actor on Big Boss Season 10, co-stars Asin and Neelam Kothari and old flames including Sangeeta Bijlani are likely to be on the guest list. The big surprise will be Katrina Kaif and SRK if and when they turn up for the big bash.
Over the last few years Salman Khan has delivered back-to-back 100 crore films including Kick in 2014, Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015 and Sultan in 2016. Salman can also boast of a plump line up that includes Kabir Khan’s next Tubelight and Ali Abbas Zafar’s Tiger Zinda Hai which is a sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger with rumoured ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif. His appearance with his brothers on the Koffee with Karan season 5 made heads turn and his camaraderie with SRK at a recent award function won him a new fan base altogether. His gesture of accepting Dangal to be a better film than Sultan too was quite overwhelming. The actor also made headlines as the Goodwill Ambassador for Rio Olympics 2016 and was recently named BMC’s face for their anti open defecation drive. But the only thing that seems to have gone against him this year was the Rajasthan Govt’s appeal in the Supreme Court against his acquittal in the 1998 chinkara poaching case. But like they say, not everyone’s life is perfect.
