‘Queen’ director Vikas Bahl accused of sexual harassment

MUMBAI: It has been just few weeks since the molestation charges against TVF chief Arunabh Kumar had grounded in media. Now comes another shocker from the Bollywood industry. A progressive film production company, Phantom, which has made many path-breaking movies, finds itself Vikas Bahl 1embroiled in controversy as reports of one of its founders, Vikas Bahl, facing sexual harassment charges have emerged. Bahl has directed films like ‘Queen’ and ‘Shaandaar’. one of the Phantom’s female employees has complained to the production house’s HR department about the alleged incident which took place couple of months back, in which the female employee has allegedly accused Bahl of sexual misbehaviour. An unnamed stakeholder which states that the complaint has been taken very seriously and a committee had been setup to investigate the matter, under Vishakha Guidelines and, after which Bahl was told to step down from his position. But, another founder of Phantom, Madhu Mantena has denied has denied all these actions and claims no such developments have taken place against Bahl. Bahl, who is currently in Delhi, has denied all allegations of sexual harassment, and says he is still very much a part of Phantom. Bahl told, “Nothing has happened. I am running the company. There is no complaint to HR and there is no Vishakha committee. I have heard about this particular lady you are speaking about and the Goa incident. She is not my employee. Yes, I am friends with her, we have worked together and there is a production job we have done together…but if she is feeling like this I would like to sit across a table from her and talk to her.”
