MUMBAI: Everyone expected Aamir Khan’s Dangal to knock it out of the park, since the actor always breaks box office records with his films, but no one expected Dangal to be Bollywood’s biggest film to date. The film generated a domestic revenue of Rs. 380 crores while making another Rs 75 crore as satellite rights from a leading television channel. Now rumours suggest that Aamir Khan’s film is still generating revenue, months after its release. Rumour has it that the actor is on the verge of signing a Rs.20 crore deal with Netflix for the digital rights. Netflix has acquired the satellite and digital rights of Aamir’s next film, Thugs Of Hindostan, as well. There have been no official announcements as yet but the rumours arose when Aamir and Shah Rukh Khan met up with the CEO of Netflix, Reed Hastings. This news comes only a few months after Netflix signed a deal with SRK, where all existing Red Chillies’ titles as well as Khan’s films that will hit theatres in the next three years would be exclusively accessible to Netflix’s global subscriber base of 86 million.
