KATHMANDU:Constant rainfall In Nepal caused floods and landslides killing at least 36 people and 12 others went missing, according to official reports.
Ministry of Home Affairs revealed that at least seven people were killed in Sunsari district of Nepal, Four persons killed in Sindhuli and others in Jhapa, Banke, Moranq and Panchthar districts. Nepal govt. and prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba ordered local administrations to internsify rescue activities for hundreds of families who have been displaced due to heavy floods.
Biratnagar airport has been closed after flood water entered airport area and several hundreds of houses submerged in Morang district. Districts Jhapa, Morang Sunsari, Sapttari, Siraha, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Banke, Bardiya were most affected by floods.
