Madni Ahmed jailed for murdering Small Heath grandmother

BIRMINGHAM: A man who was found guilty of murdering a grandmother and seriously injuring her grandson is being sentenced today.

Riasat Bi, 86, died after being attacked at her home in Aubrey Road, Small Heath, on July 12 last year.

Madni Ahmed, from Cavendish Street in Stoke-on-Trent,  was found guilty of her murder on Thursday afternoon.

Ahmed, 20, has also been found guilty of attempting to murder an 18-year-old man at the address.

He was also found guilty of wounding with intent, being in possession of an offensive weapon and affray.

He denied all five charges.
