LAHORE: Pakistani fast bowler Junaid Khan said on Thursday that he had not run away from the match but had been sick instead. In a video which was shared on social media, the fast bowler claimed that he had not run away and that the team management as well as Umar Akmal were informed that he was unwell. “I am disappointed and shocked at what Umar Akmal said to media today,” he said. “Dr Asad, our team doctor, also knew that I had food poisoning and I was advised rest. He came to check up on me this morning,” said the fast bowler. Speaking to media personnel earlier, Punjab team captain Umar Akmal had said that Junaid Khan was part of the team meeting till last night but had disappeared in the morning. Akmal had claimed that Junaid Khan had not informed the team management and neither him regarding his absence. Punjab took on Sindh in the ongoing Pakistan Cup today.
