ISLAMABAD: Offering to probe the Pulwama attack if India provides evidence, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has warned the Indian government that if India attacks, Pakistan will not just think to retaliate, but will retaliate back for sure.
The prime minister asked the India government to provide evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pulwama attack and he will take action against the perpetrators. “We will not take action because of pressure. We will take action because this is against Pakistan’s interest.”
PM Khan added that India was living in the past by always accusing Pakistan for any attack in Kashmir. “This is new [Naya] Pakistan. We have a new mindset,” he said, adding that Pakistan wants focused stability. Saying that India has blamed Pakistan without any evidence, the PM asked why would Pakistan want to sabotage the important visit of the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
Reiterating that terrorism is the biggest issue and Pakistan wants to eliminate it, the prime minister maintained that Pakistan is ready for talks with India on terrorism.
He said that if India wanted to boost its upcoming elections by attacking Pakistan, then Pakistan will not think twice and will retaliate. He said that everyone knows what the outcome will be. However, the PM added that he hopes the issue is solved through dialogue.
