LEICESTERSHIRE: The trial of the former boyfriend accused of murdering Leicestershire woman Alice Ruggles is continuing today. Alice, a former Leicester High School For Girls pupil, was found with fatal injuries at her Gateshead flat last October. At Newcastle Crown Court Lance Corporal Trimaan Dhillon, aged 26, denies murdering Alice. Indian-origin, Dhillon, also known as Harry, served with the Royal Regiment of Scotland and lived at Glencorse Barracks in Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland. Alice was originally from Leicestershire and studied at Northumbria University before going on to work for Sky in Newcastle. In court on Wednesday, the jury heard that Alice informed police 10 days before she died that Dhillon “seemed crazy” and is “completely obsessed with me”. Alice said she believed Dhillon had hacked into her social media accounts, adding “I’m scared and I want it to stop”. SAS hopeful Dhillon was issued with a police warning to leave her alone but continued contacting her, prosecutors say.
