Boxer Amir Khan’s wife Faryal ignores ‘leaked tape’

LONDON: The wife of Amir Khan has continued to stand by her man amid reports of the boxer allegedly performing a sex act was leaked online. While previous reports suggest Faryal Makhdoom is “absolutely disgusted” by the video, she appears to be supporting Amir publicly. The clip, which has reportedly surfaced on a major US porn website, allegedly shows the former world champion boxer – who has family links to Birmingham – chatting with a female model on Skype. It is alleged the footage features an American woman from Arizona and the incident is reported to have happened weeks after his wedding to Faryal in 2013. In a clip uploaded to her Snapchat, the sportsman can be seen working out and training hard in footage that appears to be from HBO. Twenty-five-year-old Faryal has posted other candid snaps on the photo and video sharing service. But she did not reference the controversy. Faryal has been trying to distance herself from the embarrassing scandal by spending more time with the couple’s two-year-old daughter Lamaisah.

In her first appearance since news of Amir’s alleged sex tape broke, Faryal showed happy footage of the family hanging out. She posted a video of Lamaisah jumping on her dad and Faryal could be heard in the background telling her to “punch, punch, punch!” as Amir covered his face with his hands. She later shared a picture of the toddler fast asleep next to Amir as he looked at his phone. The family last night went down to watch Amir work out in his gym, and Faryal shared a picture of Lamaisah in the ring with the words “supporting daddy #teamkhan” written over her. It comes at a troubling time for the couple following Amir’s father branding Faryal “very evil” after a row over her outfits and appearance blew up. Faryal’s parents even made a public plea to Amir not to divorce their daughter as they feared she would be abandoned by the Khans. “We have hearts, hearts that are broken when we hear such things. We are living in fear that at any moment our daughter will get divorced,” said Faryal’s mother Zia Makhdoom. “Faryal would tell me this as well. They keep telling me there will be a divorce. I couldn’t sleep that night. I kept wondering how Amir’s father could say that. And as a father, a father of daughters, to say that.” In response, just one month ago, Faryal posted a snap of herself with Amir captioned with the words: “‘Til death us do part.”
