MUMBAI: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan gave a strong and befitting response to the Australian media who had referred to Virat Kohli as the ‘Donald Trump of world sport’. Things were already tense and terse between the cricket teams of Australia and India after the recent back-to-back controversies that had rocked the Test series. As the two sides had exchanged barbs and sledged against each other, things took a turn for the worse when an Australia paper likened Kohli to Donald Trump. The statement angered Indian cricket fans and apparently, also troubled veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. The Sarkar actor took to Twitter and using his classical wit, hit back at the Australian media for their remarks.

A piece in The Daily Telegraph had likened Indian skipper Virat Kohli to US President Donald J. Trump. “Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport. Just like President Trump, Kohli decided to blame the media as a means of trying to hide the egg smeared right across his face,” read a paragraph from the piece.
