BIRMINGHAM: Bilal Miah, 31, has accused his former lover, Dalya Saeed, of taking a carving knife to his stomach in a vicious attack, after a heavy lovemaking session at her flat in Birmingham. The taxi driver was then left scrambling for his entrails after his small bowel was cut out of his body and thrown onto the bedroom carpet, according to the prosecution. Bilal told Birmingham Crown Court he had been arguing with his former flame about the custody of their daughter before they ended up having angry sex. He said: “Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, and I didn’t see the knife, she stabbed me twice in the belly. “I can only assume the knife came from either under the bed or the pocket of her dressing gown. My intestines were out, everything was out and she was grabbing hold of them, trying to pull them. “She broke one of them and threw it on to the floor but I managed to put the rest of them back in my belly.” Mr Miah then alleges he tried to escape into the street but Saeed pursued him and attacked him again with a meat cleaver. Neighbours found him in a wreck at 3am after hearing his screams and he was taken to hospital. The jury heard Bilal suffered 30 separate wounds and had to spend ten days recovering in hospital. Saeed, 35, denies attempted murder and wounding with intent, claiming she was acting in self defence after Mr Miah raped her. During a cross-examination, Mr Miah accepted in court he was verbally and physically abusive towards Saeed during their two-year marriage.
The trial continues.
