Willing to fight for country, Pakistan ranks top in the list: Gallup

LONDON: WIN Gallup International recently announced the results of their international survey on people’s willingness to fight for their country. Pakistan ranks 3rd in the list of countries where its citizens are willing to fight for their country, according to a global survey from WIN/Gallup International. 89% Pakistanis said they would fight for their country. 89% Pakistanis said they would fight for their country if needed. 75% Indian people showed their willingness to fight for their country. Turkey 73%, China  71%, Russia 59%, US 44% and UK 27%. Japan remains at bottom of list, where only 11% nationals expressed willingness to fight in case of need. Jean-Marc Leger, President of WIN/Gallup International Association, said: “One hundred years on from the start of the First Great War we find that 61 per cent of the world’s citizens are willing to fight for their country. However, the true story is in the regional comparison and in a time of such turmoil in the Middle East it is noticeable that willingness to fight is highest in the MENA region.”
