This pretty Filipina flower vendor is breaking the internet

Like the famous Pakistani chaiwala from before.

LONDON: Filipinos online have fallen head-over-heels over a young vendor who sells flowers for a living. She’s become so famous that she was even interviewed by local media if she plans to pursue a celebrity career.

According to a GMA News report, Veronica Rodillas – dubbed the ‘Sampaguita Girl,’ has captivated the hearts of many after a photo of her selling flowers went viral on Facebook. The images were first shared by a page called Ang Diary ng Babae (A Woman’s Diary). In a TV interview for local news channel 24 Oras, the 20-year-old said that since becoming famous online, many have been clicking selfies with her while she sells flowers in Manila’s Quiapo district.

I was shocked when my photo went viral, because usually people only ask for photos with celebrities or those who have done good deeds,” she told 24 Oras. Despite her charm, she admits that she doesn’t want to become a celebrity. “It’s hard to answer that question because I’ve been accustomed to helping my mother sell flowers,” Veronica adds.

Veronica is currently in the fourth year of her college degree. Whenever she doesn’t have classes, she can be usually seen in front of Quiapo Church selling flowers alongside her mother. She has been helping her mother out since she was young.

Her fame however, has now garnered her a lot of admirers. Now, passers-by either stop and stare at her or snap a photo, both of which she doesn’t mind.

The whole episode is reminiscent of Arshad Khan, the famous Pakistani chaiwala that captivated social media with his handsome looks and stunning eyes. Since becoming viral in 2016, Khan has acted in a commercial, walked the ramp in a bridal fashion show, and starred in a music video. And as a cherry on top, he’s also been ranked as one of ‘Asia’s Sexiest Men’.
