A teenager was left to die in a car as two men drove her around phoning escorts and stopping to buy beer, a court has heard.
Megan Bannister, 16, was found ‘lifeless’ in the Vauxhall Astra’s back seat after it was in a collision.
Jason Burder and Adam King, both 28, are alleged to have killed the A-level student on May 14 by plying her with ecstasy, strangling her and failing to seek help.
Jurors were told that, instead of taking her to hospital or phoning 999, the pair spent hours driving Megan around until the crash near Enderby, Leicestershire.
Miranda Moore QC, prosecuting, said records showed them pulling up to buy £15.08 of lager and cigarettes and there were ‘calls to escorts — working girls — and websites’.
Megan is said to have had ‘ten times the amount of MDMA’ in her system than either of the two men. Burder and King both deny manslaughter by gross negligence.
The Birmingham crown court trial continues.
