Shoaib Akhtar resigns as Chairman PCB Advisor

LAHORE: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has resigned from his post of Advisor to chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Speedster – who was appointed by Najam Sethi during his reign as PCB chairman – announced the development on his official Twitter account.

The 43-year-old said in his tweet that he ‘can no longer continue in his role as he considered it ethically wrong to continue working due to change in PCB’s governance’.

After Prime Minister Imran Khan’s oath-taking ceremony, former PCB Chairman Najam Sethi resigned as and was replaced by former ICC President Ehsan Mani after elections on September 4.

Akhtar claimed more than 400 wickets in international cricket for Pakistan in a career that spanned over a decade.
