LOLLYWOOD: Pakistani action, drama film Sherdil is ready to be released in USA, Canada and United Kingdom by Zashko Films this week after its successful run at Pakistani cinemas.
Sherdil was released in Pakistan on 22nd March 2019 and will be distributed in above three countries by Zashko Films, an international film distribution company owned by Actor/Producer Shayan Khan. The film is written and produced by Noman Ali Khan and directed by the Janaan and Parchi famed Azfar Jafri.
Sherdil revolves around its lead character Haris Mustafa (Mikaal Zulfiqar) who is adamant to join Pakistan Air Force and chasing his goals enters into PAF academy against the will of his father, who wants Haris to join his gigantic business. Mikaal Zulfiqar portrays his character very intelligently from 18 year old cadet to a flight lieutenant and at the same time a romantic and affectionate boy and then a husband. The plot of the story is actually the journey of Haris covered with his personal and professional encounters. Another major character of the film is of Flight lieutenant Arun Veerani played by Hasan Niazi. Niazi is an extremely talented actor, who didn’t compromise on anything from dialogue delivery to facial expression and voice control, though his character could only get its place in the second half of the film. The credit must also be given to the cinematography, editing, production design, art direction, makeup department, visual effects, animation, sound, and camera work of the film. Other cast includes Armeena Rana Khan as Sabrina, wife of Haris and Sabika Imam as Sarah Francis, the love interest of Arun.
Armeena Rana Khan has a much extended role in female leads being opposite to the male lead of the film. Sherdil is Khan’s fourth feature film. She first appeared in Bin Roye opposite to Humayun Saeed in 2015, and Jannan and Yaghaar opposite to Bilal Ashraf in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Sabrina of Sherdil is an archaeologist, who, though loves Haris a lot but afraid of the danger, the life of a fighter pilot may face at any time. Armeena is taking her character accordingly throughout the film keeping her expressions natural and looks dramatic wherever they are needed. Moreover, in Sherdil Armeena has proved that her acting skill and her beauty have been enhanced by the time. A Pakistani-Canadian by birth Armeena was raised in Manchester UK and started her acting career in 2013 with the British short film Writhe, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Sherdil is expected to be released in North America and UK on 12th April 2019 by Zashko Films and expected to bring more business to the box office and Pakistani cinema worldwide.
