Sharapova defeated Wozniacki, advanced to the 4th round of the Australian Open


Former Australian Open winner  Russia’s Maria Sharapova beat Defending champion Caroline Wozniacki and advanced to the fourth round of the Australian Open.

The meeting ended with a score of 6: 4, 4: 6, 6: 3 in favor of the Russian tennis player.


The match lasted 2 hours and 26 minutes. Sharapova filed five times right through and made seven double faults. Wozniacki made six aces and was mistaken three times when serving.

The next opponent of Sharapova will be Australian Ashley Bartie, who beat Maria Sakkari of Greece – 7: 5, 6: 1.

Earlier it was reported that Amanda Anisimova set a record for Grand Slam tournaments.
