LAHORE: Pakistan young pacer Naseem Shah has said that this is his first tour to England and he is keen to make it ‘remarkable’ by performing well.
The young pacer said this during an online session with sports journalists. “This is my first tour to England, so I will try to make it memorable by performing well against the hosts. We have experienced bowlers who are capable of dismissing the England batting line-up. With such a good combination, I am hopeful that we will deliver and make our tour remarkable.”
Pakistan’s Fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has vowed to deliver against England and try to take maximum wickets to help the team win the Test series.
Shaheen said this during a teleconference held here on Wednesday. “During the England tour, my main targets are to take maximum wickets of English players, which will ultimately help in achieving my second goal of guiding my side to crucial victories as well as series win.”
The young pacer said England has been a happy hunting ground for Pakistan and it has done well in the last two Test series and also won the Champions Trophy. “England is always a challenging tour, especially the Test matches but the good thing is we tend to enjoy playing there and doing well,” he said.
The West Indies team is currently in England for next month’s three-Test series and Shaheen said Pakistan will keep a watch on how the tour goes as it will help them to chalk out their plans. “We will see how they adapt to the new SOPs due to the Covid-19 and we will then accordingly make our plans,” he added.
