Quetta Gladiators’ mentor Sir Vivian Richards and fielding coach Julien Fountain will be travelling to Lahore for the final. However, much deliberation has been going on in the foreign players’ camp about participation in the finale, scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on March 5. Following Tuesday’s Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi playoff, four foreign players of Quetta Gladiators, namely star batsmen Kevin Pietersen and Rilee Rossouw, all-rounder Luke Wright and fast bowler Tymal Mills have already confirmed their unavailability for the final. Speaking on the subject of foreign players’ participation, Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan said on Wednesday that the final will be held in Lahore even if foreign players refuse to participate. “It is not necessary for all top foreign players to come to Lahore, in order for the final to proceed,” Khan said. He further remarked that the final of next year’s PSL will be held in Karachi. The PCB management, meanwhile, has arranged to provide free shuttle service to take fans to the Gaddafi Stadium on the day of the finale.
