MUMBAI: Ace comedian, Kapil Sharma returned to the small screen after a gap of almost a year, last week. He returned with the second season of The Kapil Sharma Show. Not only him, but the show also saw the return of Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, Sumona Chakravarti and Rochelle Rao. And two new entrants in Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh.
While the first episode of the second season which featured the team if Simmba – Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood and Rohit Shetty, received well by the fans, the impressions, reportedly, weren’t as close to what the previous season used to get.
In fact, a recent report in Dainik Bhaskar has suggested that Kapil Sharma has taken a drastic pay cut for the new season of The Kapil Sharma Show. While he was getting a huge payment of Rs 60-70 lakh per weekend episode, Kapil is now making the much lower amount in the range of Rs 15-20 lakh per weekend episode.
The report further stated that Kapil’s new co-stars Krushna Abhishek and Bharti Singh, who possess a fan following of their own, are making around Rs 10-12 lakh per weekend episode.
