Pakistan beat Proteas to enter U19 World-Cup semis

CHRISTCHURCH: Pakistan U19 are to meet India U19 in second semi-final of U19 World Cup 2018 on Tuesday at 02:30AM (PST) at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

In a pre-match talk, skipper Hassan Khan said that the players are extremely confident and morale is quite high ahead of the India clash.

He said that the cricketers are poised to bring home the World Cup this year.

Head coach of the team Mansoor Rana said that the boys have prepared themselves for the match in the five to six days that they were granted by the schedule. The U-19 team is confident about the performance players are going to demonstrate, he added.

Manager of the team Nadeem Khan said that the players are fully aware of the importance of the match and they are “pumped up”.

Rahul Dravid knows a thing or two about the pressure of playing Pakistan.

The former India captain, in an illustrious career, spanning nearly two decades, scored 3135 runs against Pakistan in 58 ODIs and 15 Tests.

Now, as coach of India’s Under-19 team, Dravid is passing on that experience to his young wards, who will face Pakistan in the semi-final of the World Cup in New Zealand on Tuesday.

Prithvi Shaw, the Indian Under-19 captain will have a great mentor in Dravid ahead of the team’s high-profile semi-final clash against Pakistan.
