BOLLYWOOD: Shahid Kapoor is one of the very few actors in Bollywood who has proved his versatility by delivering different roles with ease. The actor who won accolades for his performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, is now back in Shri Narayan Singh’s upcoming social drama, Batti Gul Meter Chalu.
Talking about the reason behind choosing the film, Shahid said, “I love the concept of the film. We relate the problem of electricity. The question is not if the city has electricity or not. But it is about the affordability. There is nowhere and no one to answer such queries, and this is what interested me about the script. Before I became an actor I had faced these issues. Back then too I had come across problems which I wished were answered. However, one might not like my character in the film. He is local, jugaadu, raw and full of himself. Having said that, I have played my role to the best of my abilities, and I hope people like my effort.”
Times have changed and it doesn’t matter how many films actors are doing in a year. Today, it is all about the quality, as we (actors) are aware of the high expectations, we are focused to do everything to make it work. With time I have learned that being a student is more important than being a teacher. I wish to learn something new and fresh to deliver the best and different always.”
