Winters are blessing but there are few less pleasant side effects of this season. Dryness and itchy skin are some of them. You should take some serious and new innovative remedies to ensure a hydrated, glowing complexion.
Prep your home
Drier air makes your skin drier too. Therefore, you should maximize the amount of water in the air. It is recommended to place a humidifier in the room where you spend the most time. Be sure the heat is kept on low or at a moderate temperature to avoid extra dryness.
Increase your daily intake of fats to get rid of dry skin. Also consume diet rich in walnuts, olive oil.. Don’t have coffee too much as it will cause dehydration.
Buff your skin
Creams and lotions are not enough to combat dryness. Pick up a gentle scrub to get rid of the dead skin.
Switch to heavy face cream
Look for creams rather than lotions that are made with ceramids and hyaluronic acid, these aids in the prevention of the skin’s barrier, which is easily broken down during the winter.
Drink lots of water & stay hydrated
Your body will do its best to keep your skin hydrated, but without enough water your skin will be one of the first things to feel the effects of dehydration. Winter can be a time when we fall in to the habit of drinking more warm beverages like coffee and tea, but these have a diuretic effect and can be dehydrating. The best thing to drink, as always, is plenty of water. We suggest keeping a refillable water bottle close by, especially at work where it can be easy to miss drinking the necessary water we need unless it’s right there at hand. Keeping a full bottle at your desk or work station makes it easy to have small amounts throughout the day to stay hydrated.
