EU lauds Pak efforts in addressing challenges faced by country

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Foreign Affairs Committee of European Parliament David McAllister has appreciated efforts of Government of Pakistan in addressing challenges faced by the country.

He was talking to Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir who had a meeting with him in Brussels at the head of a parliamentary delegation.

The Minister briefed him on the success of democratic government in Pakistan in dealing with the issues of terrorism and power shortages.

Talking about the need to fight terrorism at ideological level Mr. Khan informed that recently there was a “Message from Pakistan” in which all religious leaders condemned terrorism.

Khurram Dastgir said that Pakistan’s successful counter terrorism operations like Zarb-e-Azb proved helpful in creating peace in the country and in return brought economic stability.

He appreciated the support rendered by the European Union and China while Pakistan was facing security and economic challenges.
