LONGYAN: At least five people were killed after a hijacked bus crashed into pedestrians in China’s Longyan city. Twenty-one people have also been injured in the incident, Chinese media reported.
The incident happened in the coastal south-eastern Fujian province.
A man has been detained by the police. According to preliminary reports, the attacker was carrying a knife. One of the victims has been identified as a police officer.
Online footage showed a road littered with fragments of damaged vehicles and a group of police officers and by-standers pouncing on the alleged hijacker.
