Arshad Warsi’s remake woes

Arshad Warsi

BOLLYWOOD: Arshad Warsi is keen on remaking Pushpak, and is going into the silent movie zone with it. However, he still hasn’t secured the rights for the movie. “They’re charging a lot of money. I can write my own silent movie, but Pushpak is a known film, so it’ll be much more fun to remake that movie.”

But will there be an audience for a silent film now? “They’re the most beautiful films to watch. I’m sure the audiences would like to see silent films,” he asserts.

Possibly one of the most secure actors in showbiz, Arshad isn’t worried about his work; he believes he’s talented enough to survive in this industry. “I’m not a vain person; I’m realistic, I know where I stand and how old I am,” says Arshad, who will soon turn 50. “I like my space and I don’t want to stay young all my life. I’m okay with ageing, which is natural.”

He adds, “If you’re good at your work, you will work all your life. Look at Amitji, Rishi Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, and Paresh Rawal. All these are great actors. I’m a decent actor, and I’m sure I will keep getting work. I’ll be a father, and then a grandfather (on-screen), and life will go on.”
