JAMAICA: West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell already has a pretty full dance card despite spending the last year on the sidelines.
Russell was hit with a one-year ban in 2017 for multiple incidents of failing to make his whereabouts known to anti-doping officials.
He will turn out for Jamaica in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Regional Super50 competition which is their List A competition.
First on the agenda will be a match against the Leeward Islands on Friday in Antigua.
Despite his ban Russell was retained by the IPL franchise the Kolkata Knight Riders along with his compatriot Sunil Narine.
The Knight Riders forked out over a million dollars in order to retain the man who made headlines when he used a black bat in Big Bash 6.
Russell has committed to completing the Regional Super50 competition before heading to the UAE to turn out in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Islamabad United.
The all-rounder made himself unavailable for the West Indies Cricket World Cup qualifier campaign in Zimbabwe which clashes with the PSL.
