LONDON: The very public fallout between boxer Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom has taken another turn, as it now looks like the texts that ignited their split were fake.
For context, Amir alleged on Twitter last week that Faryal was texting Anthony Joshua behind his back, something the fellow British boxer denied when he claimed he had never met her.
Faryal has now posted a lengthy tweet where she also states she has never met Anthony, and the screenshots that Amir had seen weren’t legitimate:

“I’ve Been quiet for some time,” she tweeted, “because I myself didn’t know what’s going on.
“Everything that’s going on and is just not right and a complete misunderstanding. The screenshots sent to amir were ‘fake’ and amir thought Joshua and I were speaking… when we have never even met.
“Anger took the better of him and he tweeted away without thinking there was absolutely NO truth to it.”
She also added that the matter had been cleared up with the stars’ teams, and asked everyone to move on with their lives.

Amir quoted Faryal’s tweet to Anthony, adding: “glad all is cleared up and all lies. I got angry like any man would. No truth to it. Good to know. All the best.”
Anthony then quoted THAT tweet and added: “Apology accepted.”
Following those tweets, Amir also admitted that he partied in Dubai to make Faryal angry (which he “shouldn’t have”), while she said that you can live with someone for years and still not know them.
