HOLLYWOOD starand his human rights lawyer wife Amal on Tuesday pledged $500,000 to help fund a student march on Washington, giving a huge boost to what is considered an unprecedented youth mobilization against gun violence. The “ ” is scheduled to take place on March 24, with sister rallies planned across the country demanding that Congress come up with effective legislation to address the epidemic of gun violence in the United States.
On Tuesday, Oprah Winfrey tweeted she “couldn’t agree with you more” to the Clooneys. Winfrey vowed to match their $500,000 donation.
George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives.’ These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.
